Measure a piece of rod to match the length of the rod on the top level of your closet. Screw eye hooks in both ends of the rod and into the bottom of your top rod. Find and measure two pieces of chain. These pieces will attach the top rod to the bottom rod. Position your new bottom rod where it will hang to get an idea of the length of the chain.
Use either S-hooks or small carabiners to attach the chain to the rod. Carabiners make it easy to adjust the height of the closet rod in the future. Be sure the bottom rod is hanging evenly to support your clothes. Now you’re all set to add more pieces to your closet for the season.
